# Update or remove Bark Pay

> Pull a new Bark Pay version and rebuild the stack without losing your wallet or charges, or stop and remove Bark Pay after moving your bitcoin out.

Run every command below from the repository you cloned during installation.

## Update Bark Pay

    ```

<Note>
  Some releases sign every admin out. Read the [changelog](https://gitlab.com/ark-bitcoin/labs/bark-pay/-/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md) before updating, and sign in again afterwards if needed.

## Stop Bark Pay

```bash theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
docker compose -f docker/docker-compose.prod.yml down
```

To start it again, run the same command as during [installation](/docs/bark-pay/install#configure-and-start-the-stack).

## Remove Bark Pay for good

<Warning>
  Removing the volumes deletes the Barkd wallet and its seed phrase. First move your bitcoin to a wallet you control with [manual payouts](/docs/bark-pay/wallet#manual-payout), including an On-chain payout for the on-chain rows. Then check that every row on the wallet card reads zero.
